Boorowa Water Restrictions Increased to Level 3

Although the community of Boorowa has seen some much needed rainfall in recent weeks, water restrictions have increased to level 3.

“We have been fortunate to receive some scattered rainfall recently, however it has not been enough to increase our water storage” said Councils General Manager, Anthony McMahon.

Council understands the burden of water restrictions on the community, however to ensure that the supply can be efficiently used it is important the community adheres to restrictions.

“The Community’s supply is extremely vulnerable during periods of low flow and our weir has limited storage capacity. Council encourages the community to conserve water wherever possible” said Mr McMahon.

“We are continuing to undertake the work required to plan for long term water security improvements. We have recently completed the latest round of requirements of the State Government to demonstrate our need for a solution and are hopeful we can get support funding to progress a solution further” said Mr McMahon.
