Sewer Line Cleaning and Relining Works Commence in Boorowa
On 11 November 2015, Boorowa Council commenced its annual program of sewer line cleaning and relining works.
The works are not expected to cause disruption to services and as an additional precaution Council is asking that residents keep the lids to toilets closed when not in use over these days.
Following the cleaning of the mains, Council will begin a civil works program that involves relining certain sections of the sewer main network. This work will begin on Monday, 16 November and weather permitting, should be finished by Thursday, 26 November.
According to Councils General Manager, Anthony McMahon, the works will extend the life of the sewer network.
“By cleaning the lines and relining sections that are old and showing signs of cracking we are able to extend the life of the pipes by effectively placing a new pipe inside the old one” he said.
“The program of work will require excavation work at Marsden, Pudman, Brial and Ford Streets. Any businesses and/or residents that may be affected by the pipe relining will be informed in advance of the commencement of work” he said.
