Surveyors to Investigate Flood Prone Areas

Boorowa Council has commissioned engineering consultants to undertake a Floodplain Risk Management Study and Plan which will define flooding patterns in Boorowa. The details of this study will inform a Management Plan which will reduce the impact of flooding on the occupiers of flood prone land and reduce damages resulting from floods.
In order to accurately define flooding patterns and flood prone land along Boorowa River and Ryans Creek, the consultants are obtaining details of the major hydraulic structures and floor levels of dwellings in low lying areas.
Mr Tom Casey of Casey Surveying & Design will be undertaking the survey work associated with this study.
According to Boorowa Council General Manager Anthony McMahon the work may require some entry onto properties.
“The surveying work is scheduled to begin on 16 November 2015 and as a result there may be a need to enter some properties in low lying areas. The consultant will be carrying identification and a letter, signed by Council to produce for residents upon request. The letter explains the legitimacy of his need for property access, the type of information he is collecting and what this information will be used for” he said.
Council would appreciate your co-operation in allowing him access to your property.
Should you require further information, please contact Council’s General Manager, Mr Anthony McMahon on 6380 2000.
